The spread of Islam in Indonesia has always been an ambiguous but important issue in the history of this country. Although the arrival of Islam through various routes and by groups such as Arab, Iranian, Gujarati, and Chinese merchants has attracted the attention of researchers, the role of a group of indigenous missionaries called Wali Songo in deepening and localizing Islamic teachings in Indonesia has been less analytically studied. This study, with a descriptive-analytical approach and using the theoretical framework of religious discourse and cultural localization, seeks to examine the methods of Wali Songo's propagation and their impact on the acceptance of Islam among the indigenous people of Indonesia. The findings of the study show that the success of Wali Songo depended on the use of methods such as religious theater, gradual education, the use of art, and interaction with local cultural traditions. This model is considered a successful example of the connection between religion and culture in the process of religious propagation and can be a model for other similar fields.
